Education

1. Create legislation which increases federal funding of education because education should be a national priority.

Environment & Natural Resources

1. Create legislation ratifying the Kyoto Protocol.

2. Create federal legislation to fund research and development in organic agriculture.

3. Create federal legislation to buy out the farmers in the Klamath Basin.

Foreign Policy

1. Create legislation banning the sale of construction equipment to countries found to be using that equipment in violation of international law.

2. Create a resolution calling for the immediate, orderly termination of the military occupation of Iraq the by the United States. SR 171, HJR 55, HCR 197 of 109 Congress.

3. Create legislation prohibiting governmental, corporate, nonprofit, and business association funding of any group that advocates the violent overthrow of any government whose democratic elections have been certified by the UN and/or the Carter Center, and providing penalties for non-compliance.

4. Create a positive national legislative vehicle directing the US Government not to interfere with Venezuela's internal affairs.

5. Create legislation to lift the trade embargo and travel restrictions from Cuba and repeal the emergency powers under which the embargo was established. HR 208 of the 109 Congress.

6. Create a resolution calling for the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the Inter-American Development Bank and other International Financial Institutions to which the US Government is a party to forgive all Third World debt.

7. Create legislation ratifying the Statute of Rome, making the US a party to the International Criminal Court.

8. Create legislation requiring the US to pay UN dues on time and in full.

9. Create trade agreements that respect the rights of workers and the integrity of the environment.

10. Create legislation renewing the Alien Tort Claims Act of 1798.

11. Create legislation requiring that sales of weapons strictly meet the requirements of the Arms Export Control Act, which requires that US arms may only be used for the purposes of legitimate self-defense, and take actions to insure compliance.

13. Create legislation enacting a Resolution of Inquiry to demand that the White House turn over all white papers, minutes, notes, emails or other communications kept by the White House Iraq Group (WHIG). HR 505 of the 109 Congress.

Government & Election Reform

1. Create legislation establishing a federal constitutional right to vote, as per Federal House Joint Resolution 28.

2. Create legislation extending the provisions of the Federal Voting Rights Act of 1965 which are due to expire in 2007 unless renewed, following the precedent of the earlier extensions in 1970, 1975, and 1982.

Human Rights, Civil Liberties & Justice

1. Create legislation establishing a strong US role in UN international peacekeeping; protection of Human Rights; and economic and diplomatic support for the United Nations Charter, for the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and for Covenants & Conventions on Political Rights

2. Create legislation establishing a Department of Peace. HR 3760 and SB 1756 of the 109 Congress.

3. Create legislation initiating internal investigation to determine the accountability of US officials responsible for crafting or implementing policies in Iraq that may have violated the human rights of the Iraqi population, and to take steps to prevent such policies from being imposed in the future.

4. Create legislation ratifying the Convention on the Rights of Women against All Forms of Discrimination (CEDAW), the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

5. Create legislation to establish the credibility of the International Court of Justice.

6. Create legislation implementing the recommendations of the International Court of Justice Advisory Opinion of 9 July 2004. (Summary No. 2004/2)

7. Create legislation protecting the right to Conscientious Objection to war.

8. Repeal the Patriot Act, and all amendments and future versions of it.

9. Create federal legislation to protect the will of the Oregon voters in Oregon's Death with Dignity and medical marijuana laws.

10. Create legislation banning weapons in space. HR 2420

12. Create legislation to redefine corporations as non-persons, providing that corporations as legal entities shall not be granted US Constitutional rights, and that those rights only apply to individuals or groups of individuals.

13. Create legislation to protect human rights through the adherence to the Geneva Convention by the US government, its employees, and its civilian contractors with respect to prisoners of war and enemy combatants, and through maintenance of existing prohibitions on torture as defined under international law and human rights monitoring organizations, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch.

14. Create legislation banning the use of torture by agents of the United States.

15. Repeal the Death Penalty.

Labor and Economic Opportunity

1. Create procurement policies prohibiting contractors and subcontractors who provide goods to the governmental body or its agencies from maintaining sweatshop conditions by violating labor and employment, health and safety, or environmental laws or standards, and requiring compliance with minimum wage and other employment and labor standards.

2. Create legislation supporting worker's rights to organize labor unions, including card check organizing, mandatory mediation and arbitration for first-contract disputes, and stronger penalties for violations of workers rights during those processes.

3. Create legislation instructing the Attorneys General to prosecute employers who hire illegal workers.

4. Create legislation to provide tax relief for businesses with fewer than ten employees.

5. Repeal NAFTA and CAFTA, and revoke China's status as "most favored nation"

6. Create legislation to oppose any free trade agreements.

7. Create new and enforce existing statutes limiting the allocation of "No Bid” government contracts.

Revenue

1. Create legislation enacting progressive taxation on the transfer of wealth between generations, levied on those whose assets are greater than the assets of 99% of American decedents.

2. Repeal statutes regarding the reduction in tax for income from capital gains.

Transportation

1. Create federal legislation to fund development of increased capacity, levels of service, and frequency of service of rail transportation in the Pacific Northwest.
