Regan Gray Announces Candicacy For House District 42
Regan Gray is a Portland native with a lifelong commitment to the values that make our community special.
For Regan, her progressive values are the core of who she is as a person, and what she hopes to bring to the House of Representatives from District 42. Regan grew up in Portland and graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Women's Studies.
For the past six years, she has served as Chief of Staff to Diane Rosenbaum, the current representative.
Regan began her work in the Capitol before Democrats took back the Legislature, and was thrilled this last session to finally be able to push through the legislation she has been championing for so long.
Regan is very proud of the work she did on the Access to Birth Control Act, Anti-Discrimination and Domestic Partnership legislation.
Outside of the Legislature, Regan served on the Basic Rights Equality PAC Board and on the statewide Steering Committee to raise Oregon's minimum wage. Regan was also an administrator for the Oregon Women's Health and Wellness Alliance and was appointed by the governor as the chair of the Oregon Commission for Women. Through these efforts in the past six years, Regan has proven her lifelong commitment to the progressive values that motivate her dedication to service and enacting change.
Because of this legislative and community experience, and her proven leadership, Regan is in a unique position of entering the legislature with confidence - she can get things done and continue to push the legislature forward.
She will stand up when she sees inequity, and push for innovative environmental policy, worker's rights, affordable health care and school funding; these issues are key to constituents in District 42 and the responsibility of the government to provide adequate services for all Oregonians. Regan's record proves that she can bring differing interests to the table to find solutions while delivering true victories for Oregon.
From working with constituents for the past six years, Regan knows the issues and concerns of District 42, and has put them at the top of her legislative priorities. "This district cares about not only issues concerning Portland, but issues affecting citizens throughout the state," Regan says.
"This wider view along with individual neighborhood focus makes District 42 so special. It has been the best district to work for, and I hope to continue serving constituents in Salem."
The legislature accomplished a lot this past session, but representing District 42 is the best way for Regan to continue serving SE and NE Portland and the state of Oregon.
Providing a knowledgeable and experienced voice to this district allows for effective advocacy of the most progressive issues and policy concerning the state.
