Teamwork Is Our Ultimate Strength

By KC Hanson, Chair

The ultimate strength of the Democratic Party lies not just in its commitment to issues of integrity, but also by the structure enables us to effect democratic change.

We come to the Party because its Platform reflects issues we care about. Because of our shared vision, we endeavor together to make our community and our world a better place.

The Democratic Party, at any level, must work as a team to achieve its goals. Democrats of Multnomah County have a myraid of talents and skills that can take our Party to the next level of success.

Enabling dedicated activists to do what they do best while still participating in the expected activities of the Party will create a Party that's vibrant and action-oriented.

I urge you to bring your talents to work for the common good with us... There are plenty of activities and events in which to participate:

-Be part of the Multnomah delegation to the DPO State Platform Convention (April 11-13 in Eugene). Contact chair@multdems.org for more info.

- Become a Precinct Committee Person (PCP). The filing period to get on the ballot (in May) runs from Feb. 1 - March 11. (See notice in this issue)

- Get involved in a Standing Committee. Committees are listed on the back page. Contact:chair@multdems.org I am dedicated to this vision of an active local party.

- Be a Neighborhood Leader. This program is the essence of grassroots politics with 21st technology thrown in. (You don't have to sweat the tech part, though!) We need EVERY Dems who cares about what is happening in our world to sign up! But of course, contact chair@multdems.org

- Got an idea? Let us know! From the smallest tabling event to the largest fundraiser, we CAN effect progressive change, we CAN elect Democrats in every quadrant of our County, and we can truly have a lasting impact that will make the Multnomah County, Oregon and our country a better place. But we absolutely must commit to doing it together
